Definitely reconsidering that invasion plan, DotM Shockwave!

Hey, look! I found some internets, so I thought I would throw a couple shots up. Any time I go on a trip, I always choose one Transformer to take the trip with us, to fiddle with in the car, during downtime, etc. This trip it was Dark of the Moon Shockwave that made the trip. The morning’s clouds made for a pretty even light, so I took Shockwave out on one of the docks that sit behind our lake cabin and took some shots.

After discovering that Earth is roughly 70% water, Shockwave is reconsidering that whole invasion thing.

The natural lighting really highlights the wonderful multiple purples on this guy. Shockwave’s aesthetic fits in well with the Cybertron modes of War for Cybertron Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron, and Soundwave. This along with the fact that his Mechtech weapon attaches to his arm, and his characteristic single, glaring eye (with phenomenal lightpiping) make him a great homage. He could even easily serve as an update to G1 Shockwave.

Though you don’t have to fold his hand out of the way to attach the cannon, I think it makes him look a little more G1.

In the vein of some of the G1 Megatron updates, his handgun alt mode has been ditched in favour of a Cybertronian tank alt mode.

There have been some other great Shockwave toys over the years, plus there’s going to be a DotM Cyberverse Shockwave, so you can definitely look forward to a whole week of Shockwave some point in the near future in which this guy will get a more thorough write-up.
